I thought you were kidding

'n' is a number from 0 to infinity. If pause is pressed (4*n)+1 times, you will see the happy ending.
I.e:
1 time = (4*0)+1
5 times = (4*1)+1
9 times = (4*2)+1
13 times = (4*3)+1

Probably it would be easier if you see the source code of Penguin Adventure (at least for me it is )

You have to press F1 -pause- (4*n)+1 times while playing. I.e: 1,5,9, etc...
Bare in mind that if you continue after game over, pause counter resets.

ARGH! So that's why pressing pause 1 time didn't work when I played it on PSX last month... Damn continue ^^;

>>Take Salamander for instance, it took me a while to get the hang of the game. But after a while I got so good at it I could finish the game with one live. <<

Wow, how the hell do you get through Lavinia with just one live?

Well if ya want to finish Salamander you HAVE to do it in one go, no doubt about it.
And it is possible (consider me as a REAL nemesis/salamander freak who just had to get real good at it)

The best game of Salamander I played was when I was ~16 and I was stoned and drunk! I got until level 9 that time, while when sober I usually die around level 6... And like Ro says, if you die once, you might as well start over.

it's curious... Konami's cartridges are my favorite MSX1&2 games and there's 3/4 on the final poll, but I prefer Aleste 2

hey snout, congratz for this >1k posts, you have a lot of things to say about MSX, uh?

Hmm, I might try playing Salamander in such a state as well. In sober state, the game consists of only six levels...

Damnit, sober or not I never passed level 1 of Salamander *feeling really ashamed here* Not much better with Nemesis 2 (level 3), Nemesis 1 (level 4) or Nemesis 3 (Level 2 maybe). Amazingly I finished most peach up games, I guess it's all about motivation

Heh, can't you put a 1 behind Metal Gear? I get the impression that a lot of people are confusing it for Metal Gear 2... Imho it doesn't even come close to Aleste 2 and SD Snatcher, after all.

Well, too late now anyways, I guess.

I finished all shooters I ever layed my hands on... Call it a Jedi-trick I dunno (i think the endless hours of practice has more to do with it honestly...)

My all time favourite would be Salamander, which is IMHO not the hardest konami shooter... Nemesis 2 would get that honour (flying back from the last planet to the first is the hard part ofcourse)

Space Manbow is technically very advanced maybe, but also by far the easiest shooter konami ever made... well, I don't count twinbee here

ps: Salamander has 7 levels, if you want to finish it 'properly' that is... (you need to play the bonus mission 'wrath of venom' to get the victory enddemo)

ok enough rambling... shooter addict signing out....

Seeing Metal Gear has moved past Aleste 2 and is now coming closer and closer to SD-Snatcher, I think it's safe to assume a huge percentage of people who vote 'Metal Gear' actually vote for the Metal Gear series, and not for the original 1987 game Metal Gear (1).

Alas, nothing can be done about it now and SD-Snatcher will hopefully still rightfully win, but I would like to see this strange phenomenon reflected in the poll-conclusion.

Especially seeing that in the MSX1 poll 'Nemesis' was dubbed 'Nemesis 1', I think this probably would've made a difference in the voting.
