Q: Are there going to be 2 midi drivers for 32 unique unlayered voices, rather than max 16 different voices at the same time 'just because of what MIDI dictates'. (voice as in: multimbral voice, not polyphony)
Q: when can we use all this?
|
A second MIDI drivers is only functional when 2 MIDI devices are connected.......right?
For example: Turbo-R GT + Music Module? |

| This is just great program! I just tried it again last weekend. This is why I took a Yamaha syntethizer with me to the MSX info update party place.
Bug: When you drag a window, it does not move same speed as cursor normally moves.

Well, I mean (but msd prolly also contacted you about it), a max multitimbrality of 16 is nowhere near what the opl4 can do. The opl4 has no multitimbrality limits whatsoever, so if you support a polyphony of 32, then 32 different voices (unlayered, just a multitimbrality of 32) would be nice. Whether it's done by 2 midi-devices (2x 16) or some other way .. that's up to you |

| Cangratulations MIDIPhonic.
I don't know if you have a PC.
But if you have can you try running your Meridian 3.0 on Bleu MSX for me. Since you know how you programmed it.
Maybe you can get it work on BleuMSX. And when you do or not can you tell me why and how you can get it to work??
PLZ can you help me PLZ!

If Meridian doesn't run on BlueMSX, then it's probably more of a blueMSX problem than a Meridian Problem.
Does blueMSX support MoonSound and/or the MIDI ports on the emulated turboR or Music Module?
|
I've got a PC en I just installed Blue MSX. Now I have to find a disk image with Meridian. Got any?
By the way, The screenshots on my website www.opl4.nl a made using Open MSX.
It seems that it does run on that emulator. |

No you don't, if you use "Insert directory" feature. If you really need disk image, then use Disk manager to make one. (http://members.chello.at/lexlechz/software.html)

That is right. That is why I like BleuMSX so much. Sorry for my misunderstanding that Meridian use fm-pac.
But I thought if you can import MBM files it also make use of the fm-sound.
Or is this also incorrect??
I am glad that so many people are trying to help me with this problem.

You can import note data from MBM files, but you can play only with MIDI or Moonsound. This feature is made to make it easy to convert FM PAC music to MIDI music.

In the latest meeting at MSXCG Groningen, Marcel Delorme demonstrated a new version of Meridian which featured quite some improvements. I forgot most of them, of course, but playing Standard MIDI file actually sounded in-tune and surprisingly good in this version... as msd seems to be the new Michiel de Vries/Meridian-motivator: could you tell a bit about the current status and plans for the future?
