You know, there's this big gaming exhibition in Tilburg, close to 013 and central station. Every computer who had games is shown there and you can play a lot of platforms, including a PC Engine and Atari Jaguar. You can see a Philips MSX1 and a Sony MSX2 (I think it was) which are shown. You can play MSX games too! But they came from the Saturn version of Konami's MSX Classics, but still cool to see ppl play Nemesis 3 and Penguin Adventure.

On a side note: you couldn't play any Amiga or Atari ST games

I went to GameOn 2 months ago and I thought it was ace. You can play over 120 games and there's really a lot to see. EyeToy rocks.

Eye Toy is a very clever device. I liked that Korean ping pong game too.

I went to “Game On” on Thursday the 21st of August together with some old MSX friends of my former demo group.

I really liked the exhibition. It was quite cool to learn a little bit about the history of games and play all of them. I stayed there from twelve o’clock until six and have played multiple beat-m ups, crashed the hi-scores for Photo play, finished an ol’ arcade game, did window cleaning (with the Eye Toy) and danced my feet of with Konami’s beat mania.

In the evening, we visited the ‘Meet the creators’-event. The speech of MrRudi was interesting, but MrRudi sounded a little bit unhappy about the state the Dutch game industry was in. He especially noted that it was hard to get international press attention if you create games for GBA in stead of HL2 or UT2004.
The other speeches were also quite interesting, especially the one of a professor that indicated the cultural change of a reading culture into an image culture.

I can advise anybody to visit the exhibition! Unfortunately, I believe that the exhibition has closed already.

Yeah that's true...to get media attention requires more effort than it should, even nationally. The national media hardly pays any attention to the Dutch gamedevelopers which is really a shame. But I hope I also made clear that I have the feeling things are looking up lately. If you were only there in the evening you kind of missed my original speech since I was asked to change the evening-speech. We planned to do the same speech twice but since the organisation felt the audience was 80% the same as in the afternoon I kind of...well..talked away in the evening

Prof. van Driel yes, was quite interesting although I missed half of it (I had to leave around that time). He did mention an interesting book that was going to be published this year about that topic. I am trying to find out which book it was
