I was wondering, wouldn't it be nice if the excellent windows system of Meridian could become available as a kind of diskoperation system on top of msx dos?

The windowing system certainly has a lot of potential. I don't know how hard or easy it is to separate the windowing system from the rest of Meridian though. Another problem: Meridian uses its own BIOS. It might lead to quite some compatibility problems |

Theorically, MSX Turbo-R lacks because it has a really SLOW and deprecated VDP. With V9990 and R800, I'm sure that the MSX could enter in a new dimension never seen before... But software is the key...

karloch, the window system of meridian is based on screen 0 and is quite fast. Should be quite fine when it comes to speed.

The window system of Meridian can be used in other programs as well.
Although Meridian has its own BIOS, that wouldn't be problem, because the
reason why I created me own BIOS was just because of the need for speed.
If someone is willing to make a Norton look alike program for MSX (I've seen
a utility that look very much like it) or something completely different, don't
hazetate to ask me how to use the window API of Meridian.

I guess that I drunk too much beer that night, I was talking about MagicMWM Replayer, not Meridian window system.
Yeah, it is in screen 0 and it is so fast |

Michiel, I know you're quite busy with Meridian already, but if you could release the Windows-system sources with just a tiny bit of information, I think many developers would be very happy...
