On msx 1 we've 16 (15) fixed colors. But do we like them?
What's the most ideal msx 16-color palette if you were asked to design one in 1983..?
Do we need purple (13), and do we need those 2 yellows that only differ a small bit ..? And what about color 1, black ... can we live with color 0 being black and color 1 being another color?
Place and defend your favourite palette here, and keep in mind that the purpose of the palette is identical to the original msx, games and applications.
do it in the form of:
0=(red,green,blue)
1=(red,green,blue)
2=(red,green,blue)
etc.

Color 0 isn't black, it's transparent. If 1 is non-black you can't use black in sprites anymore.
What the MSX palette needs is a skin-color (rgb 7,6,5) and the grey should be slightly darker (4,4,4 or even 3,3,3). The second yellow indeed approaches useless, and dark-red (color 6) could better be a bit more brownish (add green).

0 trans.
1 black
2 dark red
3 red
4 pink(like skin)
5 yellow
6 dark green
7 green
8 dark blue
9 blue
10 purple
11 bruin
12 orange
13 dark gray
14 gray(darker the it is now on msx)
15 wit

I doubt whether games like Konami MSX1 games had looked as great as they do now if it weren't for the MSX1 standard palette. Judging by the appearance of those games, the second yellow isn't useless at all.

When is the second yellow so well used then?
All I see is the terrible pink faces in Salamander ^^; Not very great looking IMO.

Purple seems to be a color you hardly ever use, but replacing purple wit (for ex) skincolor, means you really have no pink or purple color. How important is purple..?
In nemesis 1, white/grey stones had blue and dark blue for the 'dark' side of the stone.. I guess we can live without dark-grey then.

primary, secondary, tertiary colours, black, white and grey should do the trick. If the number of colours exceeds 16, well, just ditch the tertiary colours then.
