Hi all!
Normally I was quite often to find on #msx, but since the cgi-applet from msx2.com disapaered, I'm not able anymore to join this marv. MSX Chat place
Is there a possibility, to bring this chat page back, or is it gonna be dead 4ever?

Have you thought of installing an IRC client instead? Like mIRC or Trillian?

Maybe there is someone willing to set up a small tool on an open port that sends any incoming data on that port to an IP on a different port and vice versa. For instance from port 80 to port 6667 on undernet. That way you can use a normal client like mIRC or Trillian to connect to port 80 on that IP that will connect to undernet on its own port.

Don't know if undernet allows it though since there is some kind of port scanner running.

Aarrgghh, I tried this all already! Why do think I ask this question, 2 bring the .cgi page back on-line.
Because it's the only way to enter this Channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The[/url] undernet client connects to the server like mIRC, Trillian or any other regular IRC client does, but the port isn't available from where koetje wants to connect from.

Yes, there are people behind the corporate firewall that can't connect to IRC.
I'm lucky - I have a proxy, but sure not everybody are as lucky as I am.
So, some kind of web interface for chatting on #msx would be nice.

In order to not be abused, you can limit the number of concurrent users or use a password.

Why don't you set up a CGI:IRC yourself at your own website?

My host doesn't support CGI, PHP and those Bullshit..
That's why I'm asking 2 setup a page like http://msxbanzai.tni.nl/IRC/irc.cgi, but then not for #msxdev, but for #msx..........

Do you know what I'm trying 2 say now???

I wouldn't call CGI and PHP bullshit ^^;
Anyway, I won't set up a CGI:IRC to #msx on my website, because the one for #msxdev is part of the development section of MSX Banzai!. #msx is a general channel and has no place there.

i didn't mean it that agressive about that CGI and PhP.
And I agree completely with your #msxdev, but it's just a suggestion, for others, so they can see what I mean.
