hi everyone.
i'm brand new to the site.
forgive my ignorance about msx but i don't really know what it is.
i'm just a hardcore snatcher fan that heard you could play a translated version of msx sd snatcher on the copmuter.
is the game available on this site, and how do i install an msx emulator to play it.
thanks.

Since SD-Snatcher is still copyrighted this is not the place to ask for a download link. However, as with many things, use the search-engines wisely and you will eventually find what you're looking for.
Most emulators are capable of emulating SD-Snatcher correctly. The game it self is well worth playing.

Since you're all this enthusiastic about the game, I might as well do some promotion for my SD-Snatcher fansite. It contains lots of info and graphics from the game. I still have many graphics ready to add to the site.
You can visit it at:

If you are planning to play the game for the first time, you should keep in mind that the site contains lots of spoilers.

Actually I always thought the HUD was kind of lame with SD-Snatcher

No
HUD is the 'information' part of the screen, showing your health-bar, how many bullets you have etc. and the frame around the actual playing screen.
Which is a bit dull with SD-Snatcher (blue, simpel lines, purely functional) especially compared to the HUD's of for example Xak or Ys where they have all graphical HUD's (the dutch word is 'Kader' i think) |

huhu..huhu..hud...
aha. got it
Although my first reaction was the same ('the information screen isn't as briliant as Xak and the others) but later I learned to see that the HUD fits the game exactly. the game is not anything like the XAK / Ys /Dragonslayer storys... it't futuristic not ancient like the other games. The hud is just that. simple NOT ancient look alike...
ah, well
hud zal allemaal wel

SD SN. just begs for an attempt from humble sceners to create a game equal in quality and scope.
I mean, in many aspects, the scene coders are superior tot those of the gamecompanies. Graphics shouldn't be much of a problem when it comes to tiles. Tho I haven't seen many sceners who can do those fullsize demo/story frames with top-notch SD or anime. Music.. well, shouldn't really be a major problem I guess.. A story is a matter of using your fantasy and taking your time for it ..
well ... a big competition for 2004 perhaps ? Who makes the scene-game that can rival SD-Snatcher ? |
