Yes you can use the cassette recorder in any MSX (except the turboR) with any DOS (1.x or 2.x) from Basic with the usual CSAVE and CLOAD command.
Any DOS program that supports reading and writing of cassette tapes will also work. Not that there are many programs that do this. I did long ago write some to copy cassette tapes, but only the Basic - machine code hybrid has survived.

Sure:
"Format cas:" to format your tape
"FTAPE" to define the tape partitions
"copy cas:*.*" to copy tape content (works also to copy teletubies stories tapes)
and if you want to print the lyrics use
"type cas:*.*" >> prn:

The only DOS program I know which can read from cassette is Transfer, to copy from tape to disk. |
