Hi, I wonder if anyone here plays MSX games on a GP32 (portable gaming device) as this is what I use. I'm really tempted to buy Bombaman but am worried that it may be one of the games that don't run in fmsx32 (http://retrodev.info) and also does it come as a .rom or .dsk file that I can load straight into the emulator or will I have to dump an image myself?

The Bombaman package comes with a CD on which you can find the diskimages. I don't know if the game will run on fmsx32, but I guess the latest versions support most tricks anyways. The only thing you will miss is the beatiful MoonSound music... (but the soundtrack is on CD too).

thanks but I don't think I'll shell out for it unless I'm sure it'll work - don't suppose there's a demo version kicking about is there?

unfortunately I can't find a .dsk image of the demo, only a bunch of msx native files from this link here http://www.msx.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=visit&lid=263

dunno if there's anything I can do with it to create a disk image... any ideas?

Yep, search this forum. There's a number of threads on how to make disk images...

I tested the full version of Bombaman with fMSX32 GBAX Edition, works ok, apart from the music: only PSG.

I'll try Bombaman with the latest version (RU Edition) as soon as possible and let you know the results.

wow, yeah the demo works great! I'll give it a thorough test drive before considering ordering the full ver. although, I just checked sunrise site and I can't see any price listing - any ideas how much?

....just noticed on the review page it says 14 euro - not bad

IMHO the final game is a lot (and I really mean A LOT) better than the promo... so if you already like the promo this much, I recommend you to buy the game as soon as possible.
