| Anyone remembers Robin Van Hoegen? He was a known hard/soft exporter. He lived in Japan. Too bad communication was so slow at those times... (snail mail).
|
His business was called GEN (Global English Network), our contact with him changed RBM into GENIC: Global English Network Info Centre. Pfff.
I remeber Ronald Zijlstra and I travelled by train to Germany, where he was on a holiday, to buy one of the first Panasonic MSX2+ computers. |

BasL is somewhere in my book of 'MSX Celebrities'. I know many names from them and things they did, but I haven't met them at fairs orso... Anyhow, welcome BasL! |

The Kieskeurig story will do

Ronald wasn't active anymore at that time.
That story is too complicated from my point of view. |

cheers, ro (which is short for ROMAN in case u were wondering) from Leeuwarden.

Roman, now i remember, you lived next to the old watertoren, and your parents named you after the island where they beget ('made') you.
I will create some 'Old Genic History' story, but i first need to figure out some names/dates/happenings. I'll post this story later, when it is finished. Please don't close this topic before!
|
Well post some more stories I'm curious because I only live approx. 5 km's away from Burgum ( the so-called MSX centre.... hahahaha), there's far more MSX activity in Noardburgum nowadays |

hm.. I'd say the scene -originating from the cracking scene afaik- prolly took start little after moment when msx2/128k systems with diskdrives came out, which could run cracked (mega-)ROMs. Some early-scene ppl did SCC-demos .. (Xelasoft, Merlasoft) I guess that's when the 'scene' started ..
