Is there any way to get Single Side disk image to work with OpenMSX 0.4 ?
I keep getting "bad file mode error" when trying to load files from those.

Are you using by any accident the msxmania disks ??
They are not completely correct. IIR they have a double sided disk bootsector and fat structure, with some fields adapted to work as a single sided disk. The internal routine that transform, physical tracks/sector to an offset inside the image does miscalculate the offset so that is why they don't work.
As Vincent (the creator of those disks) mailed me:
"It aren't SS-360KB disk but DS-360KB, a bug in the program I used to create those disks"
I can send you a perl program to fix this situation if you wish.
Otherwise the Single sided disks under openMSX work perfectly as far as I know.
If it isn't about the msxmania disks please post a bug report at openmsx.sf.net. And provide us if possible with the disk so that we can have a look at it.
