Dude, I didn't subscribe to any Puyo competition ^^;
I'm perfectly capable of doing that myself, if I want to |

The reason for MSX Battle Opera is the following: I believe fighting games on MSX are very few and underrated. I'm also a fighting game fan . Just in case you're curious: I got the name from Super Battle Opera, a fighting game tournament held in Japan.
As it stands now, I will only do organisation/scores/prizes for the fighting games tournament, but if people interested in adding PuyoPuyo/Bombaman to MSX Battle Opera and willing to help me out with organizing the tournament for those games, I'd be more than willing to listen.
...judging by most of the comments posted here I'm one of few MSX'ers who likes fighting games . I hope MSX Battle Opera will change that for the better.

Here's rumour control with the facts
Signing up for MSX Battle Opera:
- at my booth (will be recognizable by a small poster) during the fair
- I will take a mugshot of each participant as well as his/hers name/nick/group/city/town/country of origin (this information will be used in the results that will be put online on The Darkness God Of Destroy)
First round (Time Challenge):
- Yie Ar Kung Fu / Yie Ar Kung Fu II (to be decided on site)
- each player gets 3 minutes to achieve a highscore
- based on scores, prizes will be handed out*
Second round (Battle Opera):
- players fight each other in a tournament (winner goes through, loser exits)
- tournament line-up (who vs who) will be at random
- based on rank (1st, 2nd, etc), prizes will be handed out*
* 1st places gets first choice of items, and so on
Results:
- achieved score from round one
- rank from round two (including amount of battles, won/lost/draw rounds, etc)

If you wanna kick your asses at Bussum, you can try 'Brain Drive':
ww3.tiki.ne.jp/~ri-msx/zero/bd.htm
It seems you can only play vs a friend, but if you press F1 or F2 during the battles, you'll pass the control to the computer.
Only TR, by the way... |
