| Snatcher part 3?

Just played SD-Snatcher for old time sake.
And in the end-demo you see them boarding onto an airship to Moscow to destroy the last snatchers.
Its the perfect open ending for a next sequel.
Anybody know if there were any plans for it? Or even some screens of a next version?
Greetz,
Henk

I only know The snatcher. But this tells somewhat the same story as SD-Snatcher. Don't know If there's a sequal planned though.
I know most snatcher lovers scream for it, but still konami is continuing the MGS series and not the (SD) Snatcher |

Actually, there's a lot of differences between SD-Snatcher and SNATCHER. Obviously they do more or less tell the same story. But indeed, I guess many people have thought about a sequel to it. At the FD we had always had SD-Snatcher 'The Moscow Story' planned... But then we died |

The difference between SD Snatcher and Snatcher is not that huge. it's the user interface that differs (move around+shoot things up vs. enter 0,1,...,9 to decide your next move). There must be a Snatcher version for PC (somewhere) where there's a third act (MSX version ends with a monologue on "Doubt is the biggest fear" after Act 2).
Maybe ACT3 of the PC88 game looks like the final stages of SD Snatcher ? Anyone played the PC88 (whatever that means, just read it somewhere) game?
And just for old-times-sake: a 3D-blast-everything-away-and-find-some-new-evidence on my WinXP computer (with SD Snatcher scenario) would be nice :-)

For a console, ok, I can live with that. A playstation preferrably because it's the coolest console and I don't have any other (except for GBA)  . But for a windows XP computer? Urgh, why not just make it for MSX... -_-;;
The "3D-blast-everything-away-and-find-some-new-evidence (with SD Snatcher scenario)" thing like *SO* does not appeal to me ^_^.

Wasn't that where Junker HQ appeared? Quite the nice game, but I never managed to beat the final boss... The supplied magazine said something about a 'Metal Gear principle'. Does that mean that you'd shoot at his legs in order R, R, L, R, L, L, R, L, L, R, R, L, R, L, R, R? (Darn, I still know how to beat Metal Gear! Haven't played the game for ages ) |

AFAIK there is no sequel to SD-Snatcher. I agree the ending is open enough for a sequel, but you can read it as being such a 'war' is never over. I don't think Konami was ever planning to do a sequel of SD-Snatcher, but we kinda thought about that as well for Metal Gear after Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake... Until Konami came up with Metal Gear Solid.
You can look at the 2 FD games Street Snatch and Junker Squad as the sequel to SD-Snatcher, though those graphics look quite familiar.
It would be cool though to see a sequel to SD-Snatcher, though. |

YEP you have to sheet the final boss at specific spots in a specific order.

Well SEGA cd (which can be found on the net ) version which is English has 3 acts and then there are the japanese PS1 & PC-engine versions which all have the third act. I also think the PC88 has the third act.
SD SNATCHER also includes that third act however they have changed some stuff.

Ermm... Like I said, the difference between SD-Snatcher and SNATCHER is pretty big. If you speak Japanese, I suggest you play both again. If you don't, both versions now have translation-patches.

Erm, no, it doesn't look like SD-Snatcher at all. It's probably the part that differs most. You should really play it, it's a great game. Don't play the Saturn or the PSX versions though, they've be sensored and westernized...

Yeah, that is pretty the essence of what SNATCHER is NOT about...
Cheers... |

Errm... No... That was JunkerSquad. A really cool game, but we didn't consider it a sequel to SD-Snatcher. We were going to make an actual RPG out of it, but alas... |

Yeah, that's what I meant with Junker HQ... Sometimes my long-term memory's quite fuzzy In any case, that game's impossible to play without mouse (although the manual says otherwise... :|) |

@Sonic:
I wasn't talking about the gameplay, but the scenario: you+randam, junker, napoleon, cunningham/benson, etc.

@Wiebe:
I played SD-Snatcher on the MSX and Snatcher on the PlayStation and I have to say that it's probably better to say that there are some great parallels between the games than saying the games are very similar. Even the scenario's of the games are quite different (with, again, a lot of parallels).
BTW: SD-Snatcher only appeared on MSX afaik. Snatcher was ported to many different other platforms, so -if- there would ever be a sequel, it would most likely be a sequel to Snatcher, not to SD-Snatcher.
But I'm pretty sure no sequel will be made. Snatcher is a piece of art and there's much chance of destroying that. As happened with Metal Gear. I must say my appreciation of these games hasn't become much higher since MGS 2. Some things should just be left as they are.
