If there happened to be an European version of KVII - MSX2, you'd notice it at the title screen. KVII - MSX1 reads 'King's Valley' at the title screen on an European/International MSX, while it displays some Japanese crap on a Japanese machine. With KVII - MSX2 it's always Japanese.

Are you sure?? Because if I start up a diskversion of King's Valley II MSX 2 I still see the King's Valley II logo in European characters.
Mmmh, now I'm not sure anymore, I will check this a.s.a.p. on my MSX!!!

You're the second person I've heard/read claiming to have KV2 MSX2 with a european intro screen. It triggered my curiosity to witness this myself.

doesn't the MSX type determine which logo to appear in the game? on a jap. machine (e.g turbo R ) it'll be the japcrap (I got a turbo and yeah I got that non euro logo)... dunno. just quessing.

ro, yes it does, but only on games that support it, obviously... KV2 MSX2 was never meant to be released in europe so it doesn't have an english title screen. The same counts for games like Samurai, Pennant Race, etc...
The fact that Game Master 2 does have an english title screen probably means Konami intended to release it in europe, but somehow didn't.

You may take a wild guess, though I don't think that guess would be too hard. |

BTW: the 'japcrap' (lol) means 'The Seal of El Giza' (Eru Giiza no fuuin) and is the main title of the game in Japan and the subtitle of the game in the rest of the world . |

never knew that. just assumed it woul be something like "Kiingus Vellii". Does this Eru Giiza place/person/thing represents anything or is it just made up by Konami ?

El Giza is the real place location of the great pyramids in Egypt.

The 4 Kanji characters do mean King's Valley, only in a slightly different way... something like: Valley of The Pharao's. I guess Rikusu will correct me here if I'm wrong.
I can remember people 'translating' those 'Eru Giiza no Fuuin' into Pyramid Power. I ended up being one of them because my very poor Japanese. |
