Didn't the manual say something like that? (the el geezer dude thingy) It does sound very familair to me.

El Giza is the real place location of the great pyramids in Egypt.

Konami tents to do such things often. Have you ever checked some USAS terms in google? e.g. the ruins names... (very int'resting)
Same for MOG (greek mythology) and prolly KVII has some references as wel..

The 4 Kanji characters do mean King's Valley, only in a slightly different way... something like: Valley of The Pharao's. I guess Rikusu will correct me here if I'm wrong.

If I remember correctly, the Japanese equivalent of 'King's Valley' is written in small characters above the main title indeed. IIRC, however, they consist of only three kanji and one hiragana. It says (IIRC, again) 'Ouke no tani', literally meaning 'Valley of the Royal Family', freely interpretable as 'King's Valley'

Hmm I was pretty sure I had a MSX2 version with an english logo too but after chcking my 1.1gb of MSX collection I found only japanese versions... both rom and disk versions I have are japanese. Though I did find a 'gold' edition of Kings Valley 2 MSX2, anyone knows what that version is all about?

'Ouke no tani' actually refers to a location in Egypt which is known in English as 'Valley of the Kings'. It is even listed as such in the better Japanese-English dictionaries.

And "Eru Giiza" is ofcourse "El Gizeh", the site of the great pyramid.

EDIT: I see ricbit already noted "El Giza", but 'Gizeh' is a better spelling

Maybe they had plans to sell the MSX2 version in Europe also. But at that time there was a big black market in holland already and orignal games gave not that ammount of money that it should be IIRC
I have the original japanese MSX 2 version with box and manual and it's the same cartridge as on that ebay photo.

I agree with Serico that the MSX2 version of KV is not that often for sale at ebay, Rklok sell it sometimes.
