Is there a magic key combination to clear all this NVRAM mess?

Yeah, it's called 'the anykey'

You'd think and MSX Addict would know all this stuff!

All that this rating means is that I spam a lot on this forum, it doesn't translate into MSX experience or knowledge

TITLE and/or PASSWORD can only be 6 characters long iirc

If you want, that your MSX does not stop at boot and wait for key, you must define title, that is less than 6 characters long. If it is ok, that your MSX stops, then you can use 6 characters.

For password there is no such a limit. I think, that the limit is 255 characters, but I'm not sure.

The password is anyway so weak, that there is no use for long passwords. Almost always 2-4 (write able) letters is enough to get you in no matter, what the password is. If you for example set "MoonSound" as password, you can get in by typeing "##"

You see, I've done some brute force tests against this password.

if you have set a password but can not remember what it was you can use <GRAPH> + <STOP> and you will skip password check.

Unfortunately the limit is also 6 characters for the password. I say unfortunately, because I'm sure we could've found a better use for all that space in the clockchip. Some BASIC manuals do indeed incorrectly specify 255 characters tho, but no such luck...

No, you are wrong... You can test that by simply seting the password to "1234567890" and trying to logon with password "12345678". Your password will not be accepted. Anyway as I said before, there is no use for long passwords, as you can login with much shorter version anyway. Clockchip contains only the hash of password.
