A bit of a difference between the msx and the c64 tho is that on msx we also have more moden stuff like the Moonsound .. I can't deny that I prefer that more than PSG, and I don't think I'm alone on this ..

Well, however you turn it, fact is that I can find lots of music (even squarepusher's theme on the NES) for spectrum, don't even mention gameboy and ST all made in 2000 or later, but have been browsing quite a bit on the web and wondered where to find msx tunes.
Then again, most amiga music is samples only...nothing wrong with 4 channel trackerstuff either

Why don't you use Wolf's x-mas tune as an excellent example of modern-day old-skool MSX music... It merges the best of both worlds... And besides, isn't the OPL4 like 10 years old as well?

true...it is a very pretty tune I must say...wolf knows how to compose !
Isn't OPL4 the same as adlib? Oh come on people admit...
I wonder if the c64 had add on carts too...(no it had the SID,why would they need it) if you trigger midi via a cartridge,is it msx music too then?

Allright, allright I will dig up some old jarre covers again (yawn, heard that on about every platform) and say well that's the msx music scene nowadays people... Nice for the incrowd, but newcomers should definately jump to the c64,or buy a GBA hahahaha

As far as standards go on MSX, you don't get any further than the FM-PAC. But we're rebels, we define our own standards!

Besides, the PC standard probably doesn't include more than a beeper.

But the OPL4 like an adlib? Not even close. Much more like an AWE32 or GUS then!

As far as finding music goes, there's plenty of that is the results of last years challenges. So you don't have to look very far really.

So,what is the adlib card then? Ain't that OPL related too people?
Heheh and indeed, the beeper in the pc Oh how joyous those sounds were of larry, kings quest and testdrive, xenon 2...pure magic ^_^...
Are people making protracker stuff too on the msx? I had the idea that the turbo R could play protracker amiga files,or am I wrong?

That's because not many ppl know how to make sounds with FM and treat it just like a skimmed-down 'normal' synth. (which is why wavetable soundcards in the 90's always used a midifile played-back on simple FM for comparison ).

Soooo...I see people from fuzzy logic...didn't they make an SCC only demo at the time? What about a new 2005 track for the compo? (hint...come on people, work those chips)
