SMD#1 is SCC yeah.. just like Fony's demodisk#1 and misc. demos.
the impact shuffle is MSX-Audio which uses ADPCM samples (one channel).. many, many, many others wrote tracks for MSX-Music (FM) and MSX-AUdio (FM+ADPCM)

SCC trackers:
Typhoon Scc-musixx

FM trackers:
Fac Sound Tracker (FST)
MoonBlaster
Oracle
SME
Koustracker
and more...

PSG trackers:
Psg-Tracker (duh)
ANMA made their own, never released.
Oracle does support full PSG

many demos use FST or MB (both FM, but MB uses both at the same time to create a pseudo stereo fx)

WOW !!! Soooo many programs to compose on on the MSX !!!
NOW SHOW EACHOTHER WHO's BEST DAMNIT !!!!
I mean people you don't have to,thought it might have been a good idea to let people who don't know what MSX is about show them some real good tunes !
preferably some modern stuff...
Ah well,up to you all...there was areason why FAC was called FAC,to show that msx could stand up musically as well...and now everyone knows the c64 and uses their sounds again even in commercial music (bastian, comtron, modern electro,I have so many records lying around with c64 music you don't even wanna know....)...but msx? What is that? Oh? Not a big hit in the US? Oh? The original metal gear is from the MSX? I didn't know about that (heard that about 10.000 times too)...

I mean, just look at how surprised Hally was about the amount of people still dedicated in composing on the msx,now that's a good sign

Lost my there wolf old chap nah,it's a demoparty thing for the 64,it was held in Hengelo gelderland, with people like Jeroen and Draxx contributing too...
Are there demopartys on the msx too? In Japan for instance? or are they held at fairs (such as the upcoming one in Oss?)

hm.. I once organised something demoparty'ish .. in.. was it Zandvoort '95 ??

There was a draw- and music-compo.. and that's the only MSX-'demoparty' ever iirc.. at least in NL .. magazines (MCM, Sunrise etc.) held competitions in the past, but that's not really like a party.. (bigscreen, crowd, voting etc.)

Might be an idea for Bussum orso ... tho: /me not organising that

For me, the best tracker for FM PAC or Music Module, is PRO TRACKER by Tyfoon Soft, this is the one I use to compose music, excellent.
