OK.. I didn't wait for you guys, but.. since I am very lazy, I did it the easy way and just put the old MEP Music Section back online.
Just go to:
http://www.file-hunter.com
And use the bottom link to go to the music section. In the SCC-Musixx section and the ProTracker section you will find a lot of music, but also the programms themselves. Please feel free to copy them if you wish.
Besides this, you will also find a lot of .XM/.MOD/.S3M/.MID & MUST files online.
Best Regards,
TFH |

| 1. You are talking about the Amige ProTracker

/me points up a few posts in this thread. I'm talking about that one. Isn't that MSX soft?

Ehm, I was using some beta evaluation version. The person who gave it to me, handed me the disk, said he would like to get that disk back and that I should not copy it -- which I indeed didn't. I don't think it was an illegal copy...
Anyway, Oracle could be fine for creating complex MSX music compositions, but that made it almost unusable as a tracker for game music. The replayer would just eat too much CPU time. Please correct me if I'm wrong

SNOUT:
I've put my PRO songs to download in my GOPHERSPACE:
gopher://xrp.no-ip.org/1/musica/2004/analogia
The name of the album is "Analogía" (Analogy). It was made betweed mid-july and october of 2004. Hope you like it. It's my first album made with the MSX. The other albums I have are made in Impulse Tracker for PC - MSDOS.
Put the songs in the download section

Ah the times you could write a full album in 3 months...I need 3 months per song now You don't mind if I listen to some songs even though I am not Snout do you SPL? If that link worked at all...giess this gopher thingy isn't for everyone. |

The link works perfectly. What do you need is simply a web browser with gopher support, like firefox, for example. The ZIP of PRO format is only 11KB
Now I am working in a new album, and in more than two months I have made only near 2 minutes of the first song (I am caring about all the details of music of this song), but sometimes I have made a song in four days, like "analogia", which is a more than 6 minutes song, and it's for me a very good song actually.

Wht don't you put these files on a ftp or a www site ? It's more common on these days than the gopher sites ....
Or do you want to punish the IE users ?

I put there, because I have only a gopher server at home. It's very fast, and it always work if my pc is on-line. I have redirected my old www site to my new gopherspace, a real alternative against the commercial or "youneedabigmachine torunit" actual www and the commercial internet. Also, it can be a solution for our beloved machines, like our msx.
IE6 has disabled gopher support, Micro$oft knows why, but there are some patchs to enable it. Also, Firefox is very light and I think it can be included or installed in every "modern" computer and S.O.
Also I use gopher because is very fast and easy to browse and to mantain it. And for example, amiga users, with AMIWEB can browse easily my gopher.
A punish to IE users? I don't know

Thanks for the explanations
After a liitle search with Google, I've found a way to enable Gopher on IE.
For info, here's the solution for people that know exactly what they do when they are in the Windows Registry.
You must add the following key :
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]"EnableGopher"=dword:00000001
This key is by default deleted in IE6 (SP1/2); you must therefore create it with the good value ! Be patient and careful .... but it works !

Hmm either I have to restart the PC first, or that didn't work?

No, you must simply close IE and re-start it !
IE will then run with the updated values in the Windows Registry.
