| Running SD Snatcher with Sunrise CF ATA-ide won't work

I'm trying to get the english version of SD Snatcher working on my CF ATA-ide. It just hangs every time when I try to start it. In the past i got it working with my SCSI HDD with a Gouda interface attached to it.
I use a turbo-r and have tried HDDEMU (which is only for scsi?), FDE and START. The japanese version won't work either
Someone got a clue? |

We hebben het op IRC ook even over dit fenomeen gehad en waarschijnlijk is dit de oplossing:
Zet je turbo R in Z80 mode voordat je het spel opstart (met R800.COM van Trunks bijvoorbeeld).
{moderator translation}
We discussed this on IRC as well and probably this is the solution:
Put your Turbo R on Z80 mode before starting the game (using Trunks' R800.COM for example).

(Still assuming this topic will be transported to the english section again)
Can't i just use the "cpu 0" command of DOS2?

loool...
I have it done & working as follows (on a normal ATA-IDE, but I assume it will work on a CF-IDE too): - Rip the disk with Michel Shuqair's GETDISK, in one large diskfile
- In case you can't make one large file out of it, here's the thing to do:
copy /b sd-snat1.dsk+sd-snat2.dsk+sd-snat3.dsk+sd-user.dsk SDSNATCH.DSK
- Start the thing with START.COM (START SDSNATCH.DSK) and it works jolly good!
R800 mode works even better than z80 mode, the only striking thing is some graphic anomalies in the menus (which are: the first letter's cut in half, sometimes ), furthermore it just works great, even smoother than before!
Before I forget, try to use ADAPT.COM as well, before you run the game. And be sure you've got enough memory in your primary mapper
That's about all, I think |

The number of games I running with START.COM can be counted without hands... a big fat zero. Until I discovered FDE.COM I never tried to run any disk images from HD anymore. Most (if not all) diskimages run fine with FDE.COM for me.

I've done something similar to D-Tail's description using START.COM and it worked well for me, but that's on a 8250 (CF-IDE though).

Just one hint for SD-Snatcher cracks: don't forget to run MAP.COM to disable the DOS2 mapper routines. Otherwise it just works fine with START.COM (on my SCSI setup at least).

Uhh... Iirc is map.com not necessary... Although it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it in the background anyway.
I myself have the game running on an MSX turboR FS-A1ST w/ 256kB internal, 1024kB external RAM (tho I assume only the internal mapper would be used) and a Sunrise ATA-IDE. Works well for me too |

I was using map.com anyway, for different reasons

Well i just tried this (again) with several copies of SD Snatcher. Adapt can't modify anything to the .dsk file(s). Also the cpu doesn't matter, it just won't work. Though thanx for your information! |

Except for the ATA-IDE (which is CF ATA-IDE in my config) I use exactly the same setup... |
