| Uhh... Iirc is map.com not necessary... Although it wouldn't be a bad idea to have it in the background anyway.

MAP.COM is not a TSR, it just patches few DOS2 routines in RAM, that is why it is quite a safe to use. I for example have it on my AUTOEXEC.BAT Only program that I have found not working with this patch is GEM (Gameboy emulator for DOS2)

Oooppsss... link will be removed (I'm sorry). Look for "SD_HDD.zip" in Funet.

Adapt couldn't change anything to the diskimage, map.com didn't help either and yes i also tried the version Ivan proposes... nothing yet I'm afraid this will be a neverending quest.... for me at least. |

i did it on the way Ivan mentioned and it works for me. (within a hour as you see)
I followed the readme instructions and it works, even in R800 mode, ok sometimes i miss a letter (but i think if i run it in Z80 mode it is solved).

I don't know, maybe there's something wrong with your disks, in some way? Are you really sure your disk(-images) work? Try LZH-ing them (costs quite the amount of time, even using a turboR), and then loading them in e.g. NLMSX. If they work there, they should be OK...

You don't need ADAPT.COM and you do need MAP.COM. The crack uses the mapper directly.

Well a little bit later as expected, but i've got it working! I asked our inhouse-developer SMD to create a nifty tool (something like start.com) which gets SD Snatcher running from my IDE CF. Undeadline works also, also a game which i never could get working.

NYYRIKKI: GEM uses the DOS2 routines for allocation, so it doesn't need MAP.COM. However during emulation it directly writes to the mapper registers for speed considerations (indeed, assuming that DOS2’s segment ID’s match the segment numbers ;p). It also requires a contegious block of allocated memory, perhaps even starting with segment 0, I'm not sure about that. It check for that, too, and when the check fails, abort with an error...
As for why it doesn't like MAP.COM... Dunno .

Hehe, apparently that .COM file does the same thing my RUN.BAT does for most games
RUN.BAT MAP
R800 Z
START %1.DSK While I call it using RUN <diskimgname> |
