it is like DISKEDIT from NORTON tools, but, by example, you can to select a part of the file, and then to over-write/insert/delete text or HEX data and all the field affected is just the selected area.

this was originally written in GWBASIC, then with the magic of Qbasic compatibility i just compile it .... and voila!.

http://usuarios.arnet.com.ar/flyguille/diskedit.zip

just unzip and run.

ahh!, spanta.DAT is the text shown in the screen saver....

and spanta.txt was a test file for testing purposes.

iirc, pressing F8, one of the screen savers appears.... mmmm.... in these short program, the screen saver are not enabled.

you see, i when programming in GWBASIC i use always the same library....

since the 10 - 9999 lines, are a lot of routines (windowing handling), datafile, printer handling, screen savers, menues handling, configuration load/save etc....

so, when i use big systems for companies i use the same platform than when i did this program for me. (well, if a insurance local company can be consider like a "big company", but what?, i was a teenage and i already did things like that....

mmmm... nah. i did one better, in GWBASIC, i did a tournament matcher with players database for the C.A.D.A. it is a club of chess, and the program gets the aprovation of a international chess judge. It does american tournaments and Swiss tournament.

I will try this ...

Do you know if it is compatible with FirstBASIC or PowerBASIC?
