I've found this Gameboy Advance game made by Namco, andit really looks a lot like Konami's Pennant Race on MSX. That can't be a coincidence! (even the gameplay is the same)Check out this picture:  GreetzChaos

It indeed looks strikingly similar... but )then again.. how many game-concepts can you make out of a baseball game?

Ha, come on! Look at the bright side. If it's based on that game, MSX is still involved after all these years. And why not? Many people have created Snatcher games pure based on the MSX game. Look at the recent news!
