I do expect this to be a joke, a bad fools' day joke. The only point is that if this is the case, MRC should be more cautious: fools' day date is not in the same position for every single country. In most of Spain, for example, it is not 1st April but 28th December. A joke of this type does not help to inform the MSX community, does it?

And if it is not a joke, then congratulations to MRC. One more, you have demonstrated that you are the best merchants of the MSX community. Would this help to clarify your intentions?

OMG.. Pitpan... You are really looking for things to complain about?
Even people in Spain should now about April Fools, just as they should know about Thanksgiving day, or any other day of which anyone with some degree of comon knowledge knows.
If they don't, they shouldn't be visiting international websites, and should stick to Spanish only.
You don't have to "celebrate" it to at least know about it.

I guess you want a worldwide bann on international April Fools joke?

C'mon.. The fun with april fool jokes is the fact that some people fall for it. If noone would fall for them it wouldn't be any fun, would it?
For the rest, lighten up and accept there are also some traditions outside the Spanish borders

I should learn to read my messages before posting them

It's ok for me, tfh. Indeed, in Menorca (the island where I come from) we also celebrate the fools' day on April the first, because the island was under british dominion twice in the XVIII and early XIX century. So we are quite international ;-) and I am currently living in England, therefore I know something about fools' day. But this might not be the case for many other people.

This is an international site, so that the webmasters should be aware of this and avoid "local" tendencies. I do not agree that "international" means U.S. culture, as you asume. I would suggest you to ask a big sample of spanish people if they know when Thanks giving is. Result: 0%

But April fools is not American. It's "celebrated" worldwide, though not in all countries. And as for Thanksgiving, I just took that as an example, nothing more and nothing less.
And from what I see on the satelite, als Spanish stations broadcast American series, movies, etc... This would mean that also in Spain they should at least know it exists, without the fact that they celebrate it or even know what it's about.

MRC is an international site, and they should be able to participate in something international like April Fools.
On the other hand, the joke was too simple in my opionon, though the Press release thingie has a nice touch

Of course it's a joke...
But if you ever really want to have a "new MSX", it will probably be thanks to "capitalists". No matter how nice the current MSX comunity is, there will never be a serious "MSX 3" (or whatever) without "capitalists".
Without them, MSX would even have never existed!

I actually think it's darn funny, since it has a hint of self irony. I hate April fools jokes that are so far from probable that a 5 year old would bust it. But why not the 1st of April?
