why are the different sound chips balanced by default like they are, and not centered?
Just wondering about the reason...

I guess there is no real good reason. It just happened to be the way the developers (actually me) likes it . I think it may be a good idea to change the defaults to center the balance in next release since it is closer to a real MSX.
