Greetings all

I am starting a new topic since the old has gotten a bit crowded, and I really wanted to draw attention to some thank yous.

Firstly, let me apologise for appearing brash and a litte rude with some of my replies. I have been under a tremendous amount of stress with several projects, and I always try to give as time as possible to each one to ensure quality. I should have taken more time to thank EVERYONE for posting and providing info, I do appreciate the effort that went into some of these rather long posts.

A big thanks goes out to mrRudi, Sonic_aka_T and Sander for all of their help and assistance, and of course everyone else who helped too. And thank you to "mth" for offering to help with the Disk games!

Ok, I worked hard all day and the article is about 95% complete. I actually ended up with a lot more than info than I could fit in, so I have made some extra reading material for the cover disc.... I should really, since I don't get paid for any extra cover disk work or content, but I thought it would be a terrible shame to let so much info about such a rich scene goto waste. As a result, and with permission, I will be including MrRudi's post about games companies, Sonic_aka_T's post about his favourite games and Sanders email to me about demo groups. I am certain the readers will enjoy reading this as I have. By reading them it feels like I've been allowed into an almost magical secret society for MSX fans, and it does make good reading. I have also included other extra info.

(Sonic_aka_T, I need your full real name please, since you are credited for your well written personal statement on the coverdsic, I hope you don't mind me including it, it was very good. If you do not want it included, let me know, but it would be a shame to lose it.)

Otherwise the article is looking great, it really shows Holland in a positive light, and I was sure to mention that they were the main champions in the 2004 World Cyber Games Tournament.

The only final things I need/would like are the following:

* The full names of those who contributed or helped out. There will be a thank you box, and I would like to mention everyone. Seriously, if you posted in the last topic, put your name down here to go in the thank-you box/file

* Some screenshots of the Dutch developed games, such as Akin and Coredump, and others. Please feel free to provide as many as you like, since any excess will go on the disc for people to view. Or feel free to link me to a page with them. Any at all if they look good, feel free also to email them to me on:
megacdman@hotmail.com

* Permission to use the photgraphs in the convention photo sections. They look great, and Id love to include them still.
I will email snout a full list of requests, tomorow hopefully. You will have detailed lists soon snout!

* A personal statement from someone who works in the games industry to follow up this text:
********
Playing games and also making games has certainly changed in the Netherlands over the years. A local games developer, Mr ??? ??? of ????? shares his thoughts with us:
“?????”
*************

Something along the lines of:
"What do you think of the Dutch retro scene and the way it has developed over the years?"
OR
"Tell us your thoughts in general on the way videogames have evolved over the decades in Holland. Do you miss anything from the olden days?"

As for the games to be downloaded, perhaps its best if I left those, due to the complications with using the emulators, BIOS etc.
But thank you for the offers to use them.

Otherwise I will edit this and then hand it in to my boss in a couple of days. It should prove to be a great examination of the gaming in the Netherlands.

Regards
John

Hehe... I didn't know you were actually gonna quote me Ofcourse you can use it, but if you're actually gonna print it I would like to read what you're gonna quote exactly, I kinda jotted all that down in a 'hurry' and I'd like to be sure it's all accurate and not too misspelled if my name is gonna be in there... ^_^ I'll see if I can cook you up some Akin/Coredump screenshots, shouldn't be too much trouble... Say 5 - 10 of which you pick the best ones?

Perhaps you could do me the fave of mailing the quote to tobias_keizer [thatstrangecurlythingy] yahoo [point] com? Which is also a clue as to what my real name is

Uhm, without the underscore... and no, my second last name is not yahoo

Szczepaniak: at the Parallax website you'll find many screenshots of both Akin and Coredump. I especially like this one, this one and this one from Coredump.

Akin: check this picture, this one and of course: the title screen.

Good luck with your article!

Ahh yes MrRudi! Thanks for the email!
That is excellent, just the kind of thing I was looking for.

Anyway, the article was posted this morning, meaning now its just a matter of time. It should hopefully be in print in another month. I went over my word limit slightly, so heres hoping not too much is edited out....

Also, a big thank you to everyone who assisted with this!

Phew! Well, it feels good to have finally got this completed and sent, so Im off to take a break.

I'll start another topic when its in print, and if anyone wants to, I wont mind if they scan the article and post it here.

Later everyone
