hello!

Just a question: Why games running in R800 doesn't alter/distort the music and running in 7mhz yes? (sorry about my english)

Because the R800 is a proper hardware extension while 7MHz is not. The turboR has a separate clock signal for the PSG/MSX MUSIC etc... Since this is not the case with 7MHz computers the sound is distorted. I've heard of people who 'corrected' their sound hardware, but I don't know if that's possible with the PSG too...

Actually I would prefer to say that it's more a hardware design error of most msx soundcards. Using the cpu clock as a base frequency for tone generation is not very smart. Good thing the opl4 has it's own clock.

hm, well, but then again it wasn't the original idea to have your MSX running at 7mhz....
Speaking of which... what's people's opinion on modded MSX'es? Accepted, cool, or "not done" ? I mean, there's a difference between internal modifications and add-on carts; add-on carts are usually ok, they don't alter your msx, but mods, well...it changes the hardware itself.
Just want to know what ppl think of it.
