In which hour of the day...
... maybe, you have sexual relationships for get inspired in programming then?
you programming's room affects your yield?
maybe seeing a bit of TV before, or maybe that blocks the mind!
maybe there is specials days or it is like writing a book, if you are not inspired, better left it a bit!.

I always code at night, but I guess that's a given... Daytime just wasn't made to code... I think if Microsoft were to change to 20:00 - 04:00 shifts their programs would all of a sudden start working! |

and this is a nice thread to comment about those magic's experiences where you get up programming at 7am with a coffe cup in one hand and typing with the other hand , just the lasts lines! and plop the power is out .... just before that one saves the code!!!!!!

PD in that day on 4hours i was trying to remember which was all the lasts 7 hours of modification....... for to re do!

I remember having to buy a UPS in Costa Rica to avoid the same shit... Of course I was coding a lot less back then, so I never lost any code to the frequent and lengthy outages. Of course loosing a game of Red Alert is just as frustrating! |

yeah , but surely one guy , yawning seeing how explendid turn the code, and how wonderful is the last work done, that accidentaly kicked the power plug, or get pulled the power cable...........
or with his knee reseted the cpu!

I don't know if it counts, but I've had numerous floppy crashes with similarly devastating results... I don't know how many FD projects met a last-minute death due to those darn CRC errors  |

If I work in a problem for various days or at least about 8 hours in a unique day and the solution doesn't 'appear', the problem will be resolved in the last minutes of sleep. I already dreamed several times with Z80 code floating around.
In one of my last coding dreams, my brain create a strange situation. The comments was full of coloured hearts, flowers and stars, although I knew in that dream that the source file was a plain text one.
Was that a dream or 'K'nightmare?
Someone already dreamt with code that is indeed useful?
Sorry for I use a thread to "The big' MSX user", even so I have height 1,86m... Is it counts?
