For the game I am working on (Spacemanbow2) I'm thinking about sound.
Scc or moonblaster??
Who can give me some pros and cons?
and which programs should I use?

I think you should use SCC for the right 'feel' (hey, you're inspiring your game on a Konami game, why stop at the music?) and for speed |

Well, if you're gonna do Space Manbow 2 I would have to say SCC, of course. Be careful not to shame that great name though. If you want to call it Space Manbow 2 it has to be better than Space Manbow, at least in my humble opinion. Just be careful before you smack a name like that on an amateur production...
Pro: SCC is the way to go if you're making a 'Konami'
Con: FM is not the way to go if you're making a 'Konami' |

Im making some songs with sccblaffer now,
the manual is realy clear and when I want to play a song in basic,
I follow the steps in the manual,
bload "twz_play.bin" (to initialize sccblaffer)
I enable scc,
I load instrument file
I load song
I play song.... (It Works!! . )
However, when I do this in assembly it doesnt work,
because (I think this is the reason) loading the song erases a part of memory wbass is
using....
I tried stuff like
page 1,3,0,3
page 2,3,0,4
page 3,3,0,5
and I tried putting the loader at $4000,$5000,$8000,$c000 etc....
but everytime when i load the song, the computer hangs....
Initializing the scc works,
loading the instrument file works, but nothing more |

it's not "scc or moonblaster", it's "scc or fmpac/musmod"
for scc you can use:
* scc-musixx (tyfoonsoft)
* scc-blaffer (teddywarez)
SCC: 5 channels, 32byte waves, sounds can be rich and fat, but that's basically a matter of sounddesign.
FM-Pac: 6+drums FM or 9 without drums FM, 1 softwarevoice that can be rich and fat, and 15 hardwarevoices which are less 'fat' or rich compared to SCC sounds.. it's a matter of taste, SCC seems to work better for shooters, and FM-Pac works better for RPG's
MusMod: 9 channels FM and 1 sample-channel, but the FM sounds less meaty compared to the FM-Pac imho, because it lacks that extra operator-waveform.
I'd choose between SCC(+psg) and FM-Pac ..

sccblaffer's manual says that address $4000-$BFFF is used for loading the file, the instrument settings and the replayer routines.......
How can I make it so that I can still use (at least) 32kb for my game (wbass2)???

Oh, yeah, and 1 more question:
I need a differnet programm for Sound Effects, right??? (like SEE)
If sccblaffer alrealy absorbs $4000-$BFFF, and SEE uses also something like that,
does this mean that playing scc and SFX will take over 32kb of memory ????

oh, yeah, and what about speed,
I guess SCC is faster than moonsound???
what about SCC+SFX??
and are SFX (for example in spacemanbow) purely PSG?

GOOD JOB Norakomi! I hope you enjoy making your game!! (And I hope to play it)
I have no doubt: SCC!!!
If you are used to make basic music (play) MuSICA is your program.
If you are used to a tracker, SCC BLAFFER (with that very good manual!)
Probably in the new number of MOAI-TECH, there will be a "manual" of MuSICA that we published in our fanzine. It really helps a lot (or more accurately, without some help is totally impossible to figure out how MuSICA works!)
