I tried to play Loderunner 2 on emulator for a long time, and it had just same fault as first MSX´s Loderunner; enemies are just stupid, programmers have not given they enough intelligence to follow player all the time. If you climb ladders or hang on the rope in certain places, enemy cannot follow you, they just STUCK to where they are....
That can sound that it makes game lot more easy, but NOT! In certain situations enemy men can eventually turn away and ESCAPE (!!!!!!) you, even they are just behind you, as they try to follow you to higher platform, and decide to choose ladder which is far behind them, and nearest ladder, where YOU are climbing in front of their noses doesn´t look right choise for them..... that can cause game almost impossible to complete as you must try to lure them as close as just millimetres behind you to make them follow you (as they were meant to catch and kill you, remember...?) to lead them to a pit-trap made by you and at same time there are probably few more enemies coming on the other direction as you must walk with other stupid enemies almost hand in hand.... great...
does anyone here have Loderunner 2? As there is something I don´t know, is it a bug or not in game image file? As in certain places you fall through a SOLID floor and enemy does same! Does same occur in ORIGINAL cartridge too?
Are enemies as stupid in both original Loderunner 1 and 2 cartridges ?
So, ARE there ANY Loderunner clones on MSX, which has intelligent enemies? There are several clones, yeah, but every I know has just as stupid enemies. Once again, I liked Loderunner on commodore 64, as enemy followed you all the time, if they found out you are not going to where they are, they instantly took another route to you. On MSX Loderunners (on emu versions at least) some levels are IMPOSSIBLE to complete as enemy may reborn to that pit where exit ladder appears and as that ladder is in a narrow pit, you can´t go there without dying, sometimes last treasure is in same narrow pit mentioned, along with that enemy.... great again....
