Does anyone know about a good text adventure for MSX-DOS or CP/M?
There was some interest in nice texts.

I just fixed (and showed on MSX Rio) the "infocom" reader from Zork to MSX - now it works on both 40 and 80 columns, among other things
I also converted a few infocom games to msx like "planetfall","deadline","hitchiker's guide to the galaxy","the lurking horror","leather godesses of Phobos". All will be available on my homepage when I find some spare time

Interesting.
Infocom has classic titles.

Cool stuff to download.

Activision have a lot of games.

Maybe I could try to make some [simple] games using C or Pascal.

Cool!, I've no idea about your z-machine project. Some time ago I was thinking about the possibility to port the spectrum version to MSX...

actually no, I adapted it to both msx1 and msx2, so no matter what your machine is, you will be able to play it

As for the release date, hold on, I'm still on dial-up and my modem is broken - right now I am connected at the marvelous speed of 10200 bps

The Infocom interpreter for MSX will be ready soon thanks to SLotman. And now I am working in a port of another interpreter: Professional Adventure Writer (PAW) from GILSOFT, extensively used both in England and Spain to create adventures. An early MSX-DOS version is being tested right now.

And the best of all is that Graeme Yeandle, former member of GILSOFT and original developer of PAW, has granted me permission to port the whole system to MSX, including the compiler, interpreter, original documentation and sample adventures.

It seems that it is a good time for text adventure fans!

I'll send the news to the front page now, but PAW for MSX-DOS (v.00) has been released. I've put on-line a ZIPed disk image (DSK) including the interpreter, the compiler and 6 sample adventures to start with.

You can download it at http://www.robsy.net/msxpaw00.zip

Keep playing!
