I've bought this game this week and let me say you that if you're a Falcom's fan this game is made for you.
Of course it's not the best RPG made for the PS2 system but it's really a nice game to play.
It's short & easy but I like it very much. Nice design, monsters & story but the musics could be better.

And it's cheap ! (new, 29 euros in France). Don't miss it !

Is it the PAL version ?

Yes.

Playable in 60hz, in English but with subtitles in 6 languages.
I must write that the French translantion is 99,9% perfect. I notice only one orthograph fault.
It's a detail but I hate wrong translation (in the Final Fantasy for ex.)

Don't buy Burnout revenge (the 3rd is the best) but YS 6 !!!

Yeah I already have it...it's a decent Ys, but not the best. It lacks the atmosphere of 1 & 2, but the graphical design is really nice. And I was pretty impressed that everyone - even the most insignificant NPC - has voice acting. The music is not JDK's best, but not bad. All in all, The Oath in Felghana (the Ys3 remake) is a lot more to my liking.

You're right MrRudi, it seems to be really better. I've downloaded the songs. Really better than the Ys6 ones. But it's on PC. Too bad...

I wouldn't be surprised if Konami makes a PS2/PSP version of that one though

I've played the PC version a while agon (the ARK that is) and I liked it very much. But indeed lacks the atmosphere YS on MSX had (or ALL MSX games for that matter!) it's a good game tho, not that hard to beat

The PS2 version of YsVI is a lot better than the PC version in my opinion. I'm a little unsure about which game is the better one - YsVI or Ysf....
