GFX9000 Faster but not fast...

Question is: do you actually -need- those extra colors.

This attitude mostly causes developers not to develop for GFX9000... if you don't think the extra colors don't add to the game, don't buy it... but don't bash anything using GFX9000 beforehand.

I agree with you, BiFi. Besides, the GFX9000 is about a lot more than colors alone. Speed, more sprites, other resolutions, useful pattern modes, ...

You did, but you just completely misunderstood me. First of all, I'm not bashing anything GFX9000 (nor any other MSX project) before hand. The point I was trying to make in my 'do we -need- those extra colors' and the posting above is exactly that the GFX9000 is, or at least can be, about a lot more than more colors alone.

Ghostwriter was talking about the choise between P1 (smooth) and B1 (18 colors more). In that case, my answer was: do we -need- those 18 extra colors? I'd say: go for P1 and make it smooth.

my famous formula: developmenttime=systemspecs^2

The problem is that ppl put the qualitybar way too high.., thus nothing gets finished

Maybe.
At least their could left something playable in the long way ...
Demonstration programs are nice, playable games could be enjoyable ...

Sorry but I donot see it, because it has influence on the makimg of part3 I suppose.
Sure I hope I am wrong, but I have doubts that ruud will not finish part3.

hm.. Ruud should make whatever he wants to make, some poll shouldn't have influence on that.. There's always only one winner with a poll, simply because it's a poll.

But the mega-polls could be organised on a more objective way ... see my reaction in another place on this mega-forum !

true, but it's not related to halting a development, is it? It's just a poll..

I think for sure that it has influence. but it would be nonsense to say that this has only to do with or concerning arranger eg. alone.
Arranger would never had won , that's not a goal on itself. But the way people burn something down with having seen something. So I agree fully with Mars2000.

Wolf : on this point, you're right : if you are a real passionnate MSX fan (and it's the case of Ruud), nothing will stop you to finalise your project !

Sunrise : indeed, something must be done to make the mega-polls in a better objective way ! If MRC doesn't want to do that, then I should eventually create a new section on MSX blue

That's just normal I'd say.. there have been "best game"-polls in the past, "best gamemusic"-polls etc. In many cases I knew jack about the nominated games, for the simple reason that I'm not really an avid gamer, so I just vote something like 1-2 2-1 there. In the ideal case I'd vote 'neutral' orso but that's not an option. I wouldn't go as far as calling it 'burning down'. Some ppl are avid YS fans, I never played it, YS against PUYO PUYO would result in a 0-3 for me. Does that mean I burnt-down YS?
I really wouldn't worry about it.. it's just another poll..
