Well is it posible to make sudoku's ont he MSX in basic or so ?
There are handheld sudoku computers, the msx would be a nice sudoku computer.

Maybe the MSXDEV 2006 will see some Sudoku entries in it? The generator's and solvers? Maybe a Sudoku challange? I've not done any real BASIC program for a long time, part from some one liners, disk menu, etc.
Time for my thinking hat! Should i write it on the TurboR, on an emulator, MSX1, MSX2, maybe sdome one should publish some thoughts (or even rules) for a competition?

maybe there will be sudoku entries, maybe not... i think there won't be any.. and a sudoku challenge, what do you want with it? there won't be much of a challenge because there are no additional ways of solving them.
if there will be a sudoku challenge, i bet it will only score points on interface etc, and thats not a real SUDOKU challenge is it?
anyway, you can write it on a turbo R. in R800 mode an asm routine will be quite fast, well... depending on how tough the sudoku is. generating new sudoku's from scratch without permutating others will still take a lot of time!
i coded my version on my brothers msx (mine collect dust on the attic) and with openmsx.
imHo: it would not be a good idea to make a competition of it.. but i would certainly like others to make a sudoku (and perhaps other puzzles) program for MSX..
greets!
EDIT:
i see no sudoku entries in msxdev05

oh, you mentioned the 2006 edition of MSXdev uhm, im sorry for misreading that part of your post
but there are a lot more puzzles like sudoku so it might be a good idea to make a complete puzzle suite.. |
