I do not recomend you to do that. That is quite dangerous for you MSX, you can toast it. This kind of advices should be given with some care.

You're right.
By seeing this text, everyone sees that the operation is dangerous.
I hope to find this code in my memory. |

Thanks for all the tips guys, greatly appreciated.
I guess I just need to shoot more... Wasn't sure if I was hitting the wrong place or something so I didn't try enough times... lol... nice to know.
Manuel - it's not a common machine, in fact, it's unique! ... It's the only MSX ever owned by me! ;-)

indeed it's called CRYSTAL BREEZE
(you ARE collecting them extra bonus pods are ye? Those are the ones that give acces to new weapons. Collect 15 of'm and you'll gain another weapon. Screwlaser is the most powerfull)

Is screw actually more powerfull? I always figured it was just ___wider___, which isn't always such a good thing.... I generally find Meteo a good balance between width for 'gunk clearing' but still being narrow enough to both see what is in front of me and fire through some of the narrow 'tunnels' to hit guardian target areas. Has the bonus of being able to clear the 'fancy gunk' on Lavina, unlike the other lasers.

I totally agree. Screw is not more powerfull, just wider. Meteo is the best for me. I don't use the screw laser until I reach the Operation X stage.

meteor laser is more powerful... there's some stuff in one of the stages which can only be removed by the meteor laser...

Screwlaser in combination with option-hold & 4 options always reminded me of 'Heras Hekwerk'
anyone ever succesfull in activating the 3 'combine-mode' weapons? (twin-laser, triple laser, arming ball)
i only succeeded in activating 'arming ball' which is a pathetic version of the nemesis 3 homing missile. seemed uncontrollable en utterly useless
Combine mode was sucky implemented anyway ... unlike for example laydock |

AFAIK the arming ball can be launched in 1 of the 8 joystick directions. For the twin and triple shot there was someone who managed to activated those... they made screenies of those but I can't recall anymore where the were located.

The real problem with the teamed specials was that there weren't many places to connect, and when you did it was for only about 20 seconds or so - not really long enough to do anything with the fancy weapons even if you did have the exactly right number of pods saved up to buy them on the spot (which I never did...)
Here's another tip - I guess most people know this trick already - but when playing 2 player, if one player picks up the option hold special, but the other dies before the countdown ends, then the option hold becomes permanent (at least until you die) and even persists between stages.
