Hi there,

Started playing this game a few days ago...

Can somebody tell me if the 'Yosh eye' is a valuable item to have/use??
What can I do with it besides get some kind of a map??

Is it safe to drop/sell these eye's and buy 'Heal leafs' instead of them?

hm... ---iirc--- you can use it to see enemies walk around for a while (so you won't just suddenly bump onto them since you can avoid them).

Or was that another item?

Oh heck, perhaps it's just a map indeed, and nothing more.. ^_^

Mafcase: little hint, not concerning your question: when leveling up, only increase your luck till it's maxed out. Fights will go a LOT easier, since the luck system in the MSX version of DS6 is broken

EH, you can explicitly select what to up? I guess I had it on auto then...

manuel: yes, you can. In the options menu you can select the 'manual' option when leveling up. That's the trick

Well, it's very doable to finish the game on the 'auto' setting. I finished it twice now. GREAT game!

Indeed. I also love the twist in the story, when you find out what the 'flute' really is

Hey D-Tail! At least give me credit for the trick, K?
Luck is 'LK' in the Oasis transalation. If you play the Japanese version, luck is 'UN' (in hiragana), the very last stat.

To get this topic back on... well, topic: The Yoshua's Eyes are indeed simple one-shot 'map' items. You can safely get rid of them, especially if you consider there's a 'Yoshua's Mirror' in the Beholder-infested cavern in Chapter II (just east of Rizel). This is a Yoshua's Eye that isn't expended once you use it.

@wolf_: you're confusing the Yoshua's Eyes with the showbells...

What I think really good about DS6 is that you can use the 'manual' setting to create challenges to make the game harder. I tried a no-strength-no-int challenge (only spend points on speed and luck) and a no-speed-no-luck challenge both. The latter is lots harder than the former! When I tried a no-strength-no-int-no-speed challenge once, I discovered how powerful luck is.....

@thinlizzy: This is not an exploit cheat, the game system just hasn't been tested well enough with insane luck stats.

Anymore questions about DS6, please pose them! Im still an addict after playing the thing through for at least a dozen times!
