>And the map screenshot of Pastfinder looks familiar, so I have played that, but I meant a different game. Complete 2D, everything smaller, and red backgrounds<
Is that maybe Buck Rogers ?

Temptations, AleHop, INK, Goody, Livingstone Supongo, Last Mission, Gauntlet, Batman (I know about the japanese 64 KB ROM), Head over Heels, all Ultimate's filmation games (again, I know about the japanese ROM versions published by Jaleco).

No, not Buck Rogers, I said 2D. Oh well, I probably won't even recognise the game when I see it, because I only remember 2 screens... and that it was pretty awesome, and difficult.

Is there a way to make a .rom from a .bin file?
Most tape game have been converted to .bin's (with basic loader).

I can think of at least one way: create a rom that contains the bin (or bins) and have the init routine of the rom copy the bin's contents as if it were BLOADed and finally execute the loaded code... |

That includes, of course, RAM allocation and management, unpack / copy information, initialization of BASIC pointers if requiered, etc. A lot of fun!

-Outrun MSX1 (just because of the excellent PSG rendition of Magical Sound Shower; the game itself is quite bad)
-Venom Strikes Back
-Chess Game MSX2 (because it simply takes forever to load on tape)

It takes a bit of work but about everything is loadable from ROM. I already made ROM versions of: Boulder Dash 1, Boulder Dash 2, Booga Boo the Flea, Chuckie Egg, Hunch Back. A game like Lazy Jones would require to be loaded from a megarom, but just as easy.
They were online once (even online playable) on my homepage but a few years ago I've taken those offline. |

You can find one more conversion tool in the same BIFi's page :
www.bifi.msxnet.org/?main=archive/utils.html
Look for bas2rom...
But all of them only can create a ROM from an MSX-BASIC file (with or without .BIN included) |

There was a spanish rally game that I've played a lot, I don't remember the name at the moment...
Maybe it was Carlos Sainz rally?
