Hi to EveryBody !!!:

I'm looking for for a MSX Tape Program called "HEAD ALIGNMENT KIT (Aackosoft). This program is used to align the azimut of the cassette player. The original program consists in the program and a tape with the sounds used to ajust the azimut. I have the program, but i haven't got the tape with the sounds and neither the instructions of the programa... Anyone has the original MSX Program?. Please, if anyone has got it, i'm interested in getting a scanned file with the instructions and a .wav file with the original tape with the sounds used to adjust the azimut.

Thank you very much in advance ;-)

I never really understood why people needed this stuff. Back in the data recorder days I had a small screwdriver and aligned the head when needed. I could do it quick enough so that even the initial beep was recognised. Any extra tools seem rather pointless.

Back in the eighties/nineties I had a speaker connected to my SV-903 cassetteplayer, and I used a little screwdriver to adjust the sound as bright as possible.
Hmm... I also had a switch to switch off the sound after adjusting. Was it only because of the annoying sound of datastream, or was it also that the game wouldn't load if the sound was on..? Don't remember anymore..

Some Philips data recorders have such a switch -- the game will load, but it just won't emit the annoying sounds anymore. You could really get and drink some coffee in peace in those days

I mostly had it turned on, so I could monitor if it was ready and stuff I also have it turned on in openMSX, e.g.

the good old days ah!

I had that ugly philips cassete thingy too, and a little screwdriver
man, the tweaking done on that one was more than it could handle.. eventually the darn thing just died on me. that was a good argument to buy myself a msx2 with DISKDRIVE yeeeeeeh. hehe.

stupid tapestuff.. bleh, never liked anyway. retarted old stuff.

I also used a Philips datarecorder, but I never touched the adjustment screw. It just worked pretty well, until I totally got sick of the long loading times

the problem is over the games at high baudrate or the turbo ones. Adjust it for a high perfomance on the load. Raise the baudrate on compression let you to put more games on a tape jejejeje old times maybe ajjajajajajaja

....about adjustment and prayers said during tape loading.......

a friend of mine had got a commodore 64 ,
turbo loading routines with colored stripes

c64 cassette player was very very accurate
and sensitive to electromagnetic fields..and the only presence of a person in the room
could really stop the loading.

( you couldn't also duplicate a tape with a normal cassette deck)

while MSX tapes were easier to duplicate......

There are also color stripe loaders used for MSX games. E.g. in Venom Strikes Back.

MSX version of "California Games" had also a color stripe loader, if I remember correctly.

i dont know if i repeat anything, but all the games with turbo load and stripe loader like bouncer, venom, valkyr etc etc that was cracked to load on disk have several problems if the azimut of the cassette are not good enough. Sorry if anyone has ........ hurted??

thanks
