put CF in interface, put interface in MSX, boot up MSX with DEL and the IDE-CF config floppy, type set expert on as the disk contains MSX-DOS 2.3x and has a non-DOS2 boot sector (quite useful, Jon) and type fdisk310. Then generate partition table, write partition table and initialize partitions. Next quit the program and reboot. Depending on the number of (activated) partitions the first floppy drive can be B:, C:, D:, E:, F: or G:. Copy MSXDOS2.SYS and COMMAND2.COM from it to A: and from then on MSX-DOS will be booted from the CF.
If you want to make FAT16 paritions on it (actually, I recommend you don't... yet) type fdisk310 /fat16 instead and you can enter the partition sizes manually.
