In the above MSX-clubs MeitsNearDark wrote I was OPA... something like Overal de Pest Aan.. it really went out of control when people really started calling me OPA instead of only using the nick on MSX...

It was, back then, very handy cause OPA was based on 3 characters so every highscore list for every system was no problem
for me..

Later on I changed in in eVuL oPaH.. sounded a bit aggresive.. nowadays they would say it's a breezah nick for the TMF chatbox..

I've always interpreted your nickname as eveloper (developer minus d)

Hi,

I used the names XelaSoft, Merlasoft and -together with a few friends- Quadrivium.

Kind regards,
Alex

Oh yes, Quadrivium... Been kind of part of that too, for a short period. Heh

Frank Thijssen and I (the better half of 4TRAX) were supposed to write some music for 'Operation Damocles', but I never got around really starting on that. Frank made a tune, which was used in the demo; Andries visited Frank an me once to discuss music stuff. The Operation never got past that demo, afaik.

And I remember a very nice and fun dinner at a japanese restaurant in Utrecht, where one of the guys (Ron Bouwland?) ordered lobster and turned kind of pale, when he saw the living lobster being prepared in front of his nose

Hi,

The dinner was indeed a nice event.

Operation Damocles never made it much further then the demo. Given the size of the project, we decided to first make a small game as a kind of exercise. This became Zone Terra and writing it was significantly more work then originally anticipated. Soon after that, I graduated from university and found a very interesting but also demanding job. This has definitely put a big break on my MSX activities. That and live in general.

Kind regards,
Alex
