yup, it's 2 or 3 times faster as the MSX machines.
That's because the MSX was build on 5 years old technologie.. don't you understand what the man said!?
What a goofhead, whahah. It's funny how he tries to undermine the MSX in contrast to the Speccy instead of teling what a great machine the speccy is. Well it's fun to watch anyway, both computer types are somewhat (ahum, like hugely) outdated. so sod of and go fetch me a burger will ya, mister C.

What are you saying people? MSX less powerfull of speccy? Even a msx1 could to better than the last spectrum.
Compare gfx: MSX had 256x192 16 color gfx. Only the last spectrum matched this capability (when amstrad buy it from sinclair) otherwise colourclash was more in speccy. Speccy does not have nearly hw sprite, nor pattern mode
Compare sound capabilities: Again matched only on last spectrum. Original speccy had a buzzer bip bip like pc.
Compare the processor: the same. roungly at the same speed (msx for M1 wait states, speccy for contended memory)
Compare the memory management: Speccy does allow a max of 48K. Later 128K. The mapping system of msx1 was better.
What you can do on spectrum 48k you always are able to do on msx1 as most sloppy games convertions prove.

Maybe you thoughts about Sinclair vs MSX have left out of the equation a tiny element: Spectrum has got more programs available. Therefore, considering a computer as a combination of hardware+software+users&support, Sinclair computers are far superior to MSX.
If you stick to hardware, then I should agree: MSX hardware is somewhat better than Spectrum is, but on the other hand, ZX has a major advantage when compared to MSX - speed on data transference to video RAM, because VRAM is directly accesible by the Z80. Of course, this is also a drawback: less VRAM available, less RAM available.
As you can see, there's not only a valid answer. But MSX is and will be my favourite computer system ever.
