As I find it quite unlikely, that there are less people interested about ready made MSX1 game collection than there are games in it I decited to promote a little bit more and post now a full list of games, that are available in MSX Info update 2006 game disk.
Please note, that this disk is autobootable, so you don't need any ROM-loders or extra hardware to play these. Standard MSX1 with DD disk drive is enough.
Just visit http://msx.partys.at.endofinternet.org to download this disk.

- Kralizec Tetris
- Griel's Guest

Note that the disk drive keeps running for some games (I ran Caverns of Titan).
Anway, a great way to get those games running on a real MSX! Nice intro as well. |

Good idea to make a disk with the recent games.
I was reading about the meeting, too bad the video with dvik's presentation and SymbOS wasn't available. Would it be possible to put it somewhere to download (a personal site, rapid share, torrent, emule, whatever)? I really would like to see this video. |

NYYRIKII: Please, don't think that freeware seems 'free distributable'. Please, I kindly ask you to remove our games from that compilation, as several websites have asked us kindly to put our games online -a thing that you did not do- and we denied: our games are freeware, all we ask is people to visit our site to know more about us. You can get or games at the MSXDEV Team website also, but that's just because, as the contest's rules state, the MSXDEV Team are automatically liscenced to distribute all games entering the contest. Note that I'm just talking about Karoshi Corporation games... I have no idea about what the other games' authors think about your compilation, but I suggest you that, at least, ask them permission.

viejo_archivero: My opinion is that if you want your games to be removed from the compilation it only makes harder for the audience to know about your stuff. I had never heard of any karoshi corporation stuff before I went to the party (I'm pretty new to the scene) and obtained the disk. After trying your games I visited your website for more information.
And I just downloaded your game PONG, which I have never earlier heard of also. (and this happened because I saw a picture of "pong" on the MSXRio2k6 -photoshoot and there was your name on the picture.)
Your posting gave me a bit negative feeling of "Karoshi". Especially because you now want the games to be removed.
I have ran to this question earlier myself also, because I play in a band and we are not popular or commercial. I have noticed that when people first hear our song from somewhere and like it, they'll then come and visit our wepages for more info. It is extremely rare for people to just come to our site and download some songs without knowing what they'll get.
But this is just how I think these things work better.
Anyway I respect your opinion. This was just a thought. ...And if you wish not to be "marketed" in any way then I'll understand it too.

Yes, XanOri. I want them to be deleted because they are already online -and free for everyone to download- at our website. And it is sad for me that you get a negative feeling about us: imagine you find your band's free song into a recopilatory disk without even been asked for any permission to do so... |

viejo_archievo: Yes, it is a nice thing to ask about such things.
Don't worry, I'll keep supporting karoshi corporation (read: playing your games and visiting your pages) anyway.
I just felt this topic pretty familiar, because of our "promotion" -related subjects of which I had these thoughts about. |

viejo_archivero: I'm sorry that I was distributing your games without permission. I should have checked the rules about distribution first. I've now taken this collection offline.
Wolf_: Yes, it was the final version...

Hey NYYRIKKI!: I'm just talking about "Griel's Quest"!. I don't know if the other game's authors will give permission to you for the compilation, but I'm pretty sure they'll do, as other game authors has agreed with other websites to host their games. Just pointing Karoshi filosophy about our games' distribution, but I wasn't talking about others...
I still think your compilation can be distributed with no trouble!: what about asking the authors? . |

I'm with viejo_archivero on this one. Anyone can download "The Cure" from the MSXDEV website, and I don't think we will ever give permission to put the game online on any other website, if asked. There is no need as long the MSXDEV site is online... This will also promote that site a bit.

I really would've expected NYYRIKKI to know better... :/ The music replayer in the menu has a bug which can short-circuit the MSX... You might want to read the MSXdev'05 results page again where the problem was made clear. |
