Looking for three games.

Hi there! I'm new, but not so new to MSX stuff. However, I haven't had the opportunity to own one in ages (in fact, am looking for an MSX2 in good working order). I've been trying to track down three specific games I used to play quite a bit in my youth! Thusly, I am trying to find their names.

The first game, with the help of my friend Haze, turned out to be Athletic Land.

The second game is as I remember it a top-down view car racer with splitscreen ability and featured various jumps and so on. The roads were usually a chessboard pattern and the view varied between monochrome cyan and monochrome white. Sometimes, skulls on the track destroyed the car, which then caused it to respawn. This would mean loss of position in the race, rather than losing a life.

The third game was an odd game where a clown-like character (could have been a jester), walked around a town and had to find family members or something similar. Once in a while, enemies like dogs would come along, and could be warded off with a sausage.

So...anyone know which games these are?

I went through the entire Generation MSX before I posted here, and could not find the games.

Coaster Racer is similar to what I was looking for, but it contained no real turns. The track narrowed or widened accordingly or veered left and right.

The platformer was not Japanese. I think it was either english or spanish, perhaps even portugese?

Sausages?, uuh, that rings a bell...could it be not a "jester"; but a super-hero?, maybe "Capitan Sevilla"?

A racing game that fits perfectly your description is The Race. It's a monochrome racing game (ZX-Spectrum port) full of jumps.

Google for...

"the race" msx

...for the... uh, more information.

Indeed I was pointing to ComputerEmuzone; but just to give credits to the screenshot used...

The full game info can be found on Generation MSX of course :-)

Oooh, Capitan Sevilla looks close, but I remember that the town was not monochrome. Any other games like it?

I can't find any info or screenshots about "The Race"... If you have the game, please contact me, so I can add the info to Generation MSX.
