I'm looking for an FM-PAC cartridge, does anyone happen to have one for sale?

I'd also like to know what the going rates are these days, for both the original FM-PAC as well as the clones.

Have seen a few on ebay these days, seems to go for something between 5-20 euros depending on visual looks and if manuals etc... are included.

I came across this one a couple of days ago. I was going to buy it, but I am buying an MSX2+ instead

These are quite common There is a guy from japan, superb articles from japan on ebay that often have these in very good condition including box etc... if thats important to you. Or have a look at the link mentioned by coldbreeze. 2 days to go and Eur 7.50......

Demand for these varies, so does prices.........

That auction was actually the reason I posted here. So I could find out what was a reasonable price.

Anyway, that 7.50 euro doesn't mean much on eBay when there's still two days to go.

FM-PAC are usually around 20€-25€ (without shipping costs). You'll be lucky if you get one cheaper than this...

@jltursan, I presume that's for a cart only? What about a boxed unit?

Btw, are there any major drawbacks to getting a non-official FM-PAC instead? E.g., do a lot of games use or require SRAM?

No, there isn't. The sound is the same. Only the Zemina version is not so good. And about the SRAM. You can always save to disk, but SRAM can be very useful (and it's always nice to have "the real thing".

A rare exception due some crazy bidders . A loose cart can't cost so much; for >50€ you can go for a Music Module instead...

I paid 48euros for a panasonic MSX2+ including 3 cartridge games on ebay not long ago.... (8 days ago)seems like a better deal... (the panasonic is now upgraded to 512kb using old ram chips I got for free) and of course the FM PAC is built in.........

A panasonic MSX2+ and 3 carts for only 48€!? , believe me, it's a real bargain!. Even if the machine is the FS-A1FX (it must not as you say that it comes with MSX Audio) is very cheap, if the model is a WX or a WSX you're a lucky man! ^__^
