I just wondered if there are any flash carts that can load the 48kB roms made for msxdev'05. Most flash carts can only have rom in 0x4000-0xBFFF, right?

what msx? why ROM? You can rename The Cure and UU to .com and run 'em from DOS ..
-otoh- you want flashROM ... nevermind..

@wolf_: So you used DOS when developing the games and then just submitted UU as a rom to msxdev?

ah ok. just curious. Do you think its better to submit an entry that would fit in 48kB to msxdev'07 as a 48kB rom or as a megarom? For msxdev'05 there wasn't any flexibility like this but now there is...

MegaFlashROM SCC has ROM in #0000-#FFFF, but can't handle different banks in all memory areas due to SCC design. I made some simple 64k flash cartridges to load any ROM up to 64k. They are similar to multiROM cartridges, but rewritables. |

Nice. Just to make sure I get it right. I can do either a 64kB non memory mapped rom from 0x0000-0xFFFF or a megarom with paging at addresses 0x4000-0xBFFF, right?

With a MegaFlashROM SCC you can do a megaROM 0x4000-0xBFFF. Also you can have ROM in 0x0000-0xFFFF BUT some banks will be mirrored in that mode (i.e.: 0x0000-0x1FFF = 0x8000-0x9FFF)
So, to run non megaROMs up to 64k I made a different flash cartridges, that I did not sell. I just gave them for free to some developers so they can test their games on real MSX.
