| What would you like to see on a fair?

As for the subject... GuyveR has a point. Some people do not come to fairs anymore, just because there aren't many people going to fairs anymore. That makes some people not come to fairs... uhm... you get the point.
We of the MRC have tried to make MSX fairs in the Netherlands as interesting as possible, but we're open for suggestions. What can we (and you) do to get these people back? | | GuyveR800 msx guru Mensajes: 3048 | Publicado: Febrero 13 2003, 02:02   | All I was saying is that there are people that do actually walk around on fairs making nothing but negative and bad remarks. I've had so many people over the years that spoke to me about it and it really pains people when they work hard at something and get nothing but negativity. It has happened to me personally several times... I've been an active developer in the MSX scene since 1990, so I know what I'm talking about.
Furthermore a lot of people still do visit fairs, and I think the fair in Oss has done better over the past 2 years than ever before. If you start talking about not enough people visit fairs, that's just from your personal point of view.
There are people that are used to the MSX Fair Tilburg taking place in a 2-day weekend and attracting 5000 visitors, and indeed there were people complaining about it when 'only' 500 people showed up 5 years later.
Now we are another 5 years later and yes, the MSX scene has shrunk a bit. But, developments are still taking place! There's still something new every fair, either for sale, for free or in development...
So if certain people like to talk negative (on this forum or anywhere else) I'll be there to say something about it, defending my and other people's efforts for the MSX scene. I never attack people, but I do point out sore spots where I see them...
Anybody who doesn't agree with my words here is free to contradict them on this forum.

I remember last Tilburg where we had an extremely crowded room (take a look at the photo shoot, those pictures were taken when we actually had the time to do so) and one man squirmed himself to our booth, looked around for a few seconds and sighed "awww... it isn't what it used to be". Looking back at it, it was quite funny
However, I think there are far more people who would like to visit an MSX fair, but they are - for some reason - staying at home. | |
