Using AuroraMSX's formula yields 7877 as the number of machines (with 9 samples). So, indeed, cx5mguy's machine is a high serial number His other machine with 1466 is quite low, though Dvik's one with 1186 is the lowest serial we know. Well, nice stats.

Well, I have two of them, one with serial number 001383 and one with serial number 004565, but who cares?

OK Guys A Yamaha Company Guy Named Steve Just called me, He says that he believes someone was correct in that #7090 was probably the High end and near the end of those ever released in the us! He's quoting only about 5,000 or so released here. But Indeed still rare in it's unused form. So for the time being I will just keep breathing in those fresh electronics smells Yumm Yumm wonder if i can get that in an aerosal spray for my studio..........

Yeah, US CX5M's aren't that common on ebay to start with. And this one is unused which of course is very rare.

I somehow have never gotten used to localized OS-es and apps. Trouble is that every now and then you are bound to run into an application that is not -- or not properly -- localized and end up with stupid stuff like

True that, but I don't really mind that. The most common apps are properly translated. I mention here GNOME, Firefox, Thunderbird, even the XMMS help pane! Only thing is that OpenOffice isn't quite there yet
