I have absolutely no experience with AGE 5.
I fail to load .GE5 pictures using the BLOAD,S command.
Could this mean the files are corrupted, or is it simply not possible to load them like this?

O.k., so the files are indeed corrupted.
That's all I needed to know. |

Loading back into AGE works?
Viewing in ViewMSX works? |

No, AGE wouldn't load them either, so the files must be broken.
ViewMSX seems to be a very useful tool! Thanks for pointing that one out.

In order to avoid [me possibly spreading incomplete/erratic information about e-mail use]:
Something also seems to be very wrong with the Disk Manager I'm using.
...Or maybe I should throw either NLMSX or my brains out of the window. I don't know... |

I,m struggling to understand how Age stores the colorpalet in the last X bytes in the GE5 file
it looks like AGE stores it in RBG as a sting |

AGE stores colours the same as basic does. As 16 pairs of bytes with RB 0G starting at &H7680.

DemonSeed: first try to work out your brains, then throw out NLMSX
No seriously, NLMSX is a good piece of software, adequate for the job. I heard people had troubles with Disk Manager before. If I'm correct, it had something to do with the [A]rchive bit, try setting it manually and look at NLMSX again. |

In this light, I recently discovered that disks created from scratch with Disk Manager will sometimes not even work on a real MSX!
However, disks created with BlueMSX work fine.
By the way, I've come to use BlueMSX a little bit because it seems to be more accurate in emulating.
(Yeah yeah, you guys had already told me that before but I'm very pigheaded )
Now I still use NLMSX for making music and drawing because of the Z80 speed feature. |
