Whats about holographic devices or 2D acceleration?
Since the High Definition is not that must have ... Whats about a High Resolution LCD?
Imagine a YJK image at a higher resolution ... something like 4096*3072!
12.592.912 bytes per frame.
12MB per image x 30 frames per second = 360 MB
360 x 100 seconds = 36.000
36.000 * 10 = 360.000 MB
High Resolution Photo Viewer.
Since there isn't any player for High Resolution, a new graphically workstation would do just fine ... there was even the option to render the old Kodak Photo CD!
For typical images, the minimum acceptable would be 3.1 mega pixels of resolution. 12 mega pixels would be great!
For those that would be thinking smaller, there is marketing for even more. With resolution of 12 mega pixels and up there is no need to downgrade the image to fit into the small screen of the actual High Definition devices ...

Uhm... yes... well... allright, but what has this to to with revival? Would you like to play Aleste 2 on a resolution of 4096*3072 or something? I don't understand, sorry... |

Before reading Yukio postings I always put on some Krautrock, New Wave or Ambient music. While reading this post, I was listening to Hallogallo from Neu! Loved it!!

*hunts for a place to sample it from* |

Can it be that Yukio is a computer with a network connection that is performing the Turing test on us dwellers on MSX.org?
And that we are tricked that it is a real person? |

* Opens music player and plays "Philip Oakey & Giorgio Moroder - Together In Electric Dreams" for Yukio *

Hey, great piece of music!, the steady rythm basis of Hallogallo remembers me a lot another early track from Kraftwerk, "Ruckzuck" |

I don't think Yukio's suggestion is that unrealistic. If you just use 232 (!) semi transparent well detuned V9958 you'll get an interlaced 4096*3072 picture. Not that far fetched |

/me stares at his Graphics9000.
(Ok, that's not 4096x3072)
[edit: but I don't see the point in trying to create such a resolution. Even my PC can't handle that and if it could, I wouldn't have a monitor that is able to display the image.] |
