With OCM in mind I thought that I should tweak the boot-logo a bit...
How do you like this?
http://msx.fi/temp/newlogo.bin
I think it should be small enough to fit it on the place of original logo in SUB-ROM...
System: MSX2 or better
Loading: BLOAD"NEWLOGO.BIN",R |

Cool!!! The effect is even better then the turboR logo effect.
How do I include it in the SUB-ROM of my OCM?
Or in any ROM for openMSX or some other MSX emulator?
Kind regards,
Alex

Nice! But I can only get it to work openMSX/turbor, not openMSX/msx2.

Hi,
I first tried it on emulator (openMSX) with turbo-r emulation (FSA1GT). The effect is really cool how it scrolls in from the bottom of the screen
Then I tried on NMS 8250 emulation. Logo does not scroll in at all. There is a fade effect for the background color but the logo is only displayed at the end, at the right position, once the fade is completed
Then I tried on OCM: effect is same as on NMS 8250 emulation (I still have original MSX-association/ESE-Artists-Factory configuration, did not yet upgrade to HRA 'improvements').
As a last test, I tried on emulator (openMSX again) with MSX 2+ configuration (Panasonic FSA1WSX). Effect is same as on turbo R. Really cool!
Do you use any V9958 specific features to scroll-in the logo from the bottom?
Kind regards,
Alex

Ah, sorry... There is no intentionally v9958 stuff, but it seems that I still have a bug in the code that makes it not to work on V9938. I'll fix it tomorrow...
The code it self can be compiled to any address.

Ah, good.
I only tried it on an openMSX/msx2 and was completely underwhelmed. (just a fading logo?!)
But with a V9958 chip it is really really cool ! |

Ok, now it should work on MSX2 as well (download again)... I also managed to reduce the current size to 1467 bytes.

Damn... two last ones don't work on OCM hardware... I guess I need to start coding using real hardware...
